# How to use CES Calculator

CES Calculator turns 7-point Customer Effort Score counts into an average and a
low-effort percentage. Use it after you ask how easy it was to get something
done, when you care about effort as much as satisfaction. In this article you
will learn how to enter each rating count and read average CES plus the
low-effort share.

The tool is at form.ms/tools/ces-calculator
[https://form.ms/tools/ces-calculator].

1. OPEN THE CALCULATOR

Go to the CES Calculator [https://form.ms/tools/ces-calculator]. Average CES is
the mean rating. Low-effort % is (6 to 7 responses divided by total) times 100.

2. ENTER RATING COUNTS

Use the 7-point boxes (1 = strongly disagree that it was easy, 7 = strongly
agree). Type the number of responses in each box. Click Reset if you want to
start over.

3. READ AVERAGE AND LOW-EFFORT %

The page shows average CES and the share who picked 6 or 7. Both summaries are
common in CX reports.

Counts are not saved on Formms servers. For satisfaction instead of effort, use
the CSAT Calculator

loyalty, use the NPS Calculator
