# How to add a Time question

Time asks for a clock time (hour and minute), not a calendar day. Use it for
preferred arrival, session start, pickup window, or when someone can meet. Pair
it with Date when you need both the day and the time.

1. ADD IT

In Build, click Add a question, then choose Time. See How to add questions
[https://formms.help.center/article/1016-how-to-add-questions].

2. ON THE FORM

The field is on the canvas. Question settings opens so you can write the prompt,
add hint text, and mark it required.

3. WHAT IT IS FOR

People pick a time. Typical uses: preferred arrival, session start, or pickup
window.

4. EDIT AND REQUIRE

Click the field to change the wording. Hover it to duplicate or delete. Required
questions show a red asterisk. Optional ones do not.

If you need a full day on the calendar, use Date instead. You can put both on
the same form.

5. ASK AI

In create a form with AI
[https://formms.help.center/article/1013-how-to-create-a-form-with-ai], describe
the form and name this type. On a form you already have, open Chat to Edit (the
pencil next to Add a question) and ask in a sentence.

Example:

> Add a time question for preferred arrival.

6. READ THE DRAFT

The helper replies with a Draft card. Each field shows its type. Check that Time
is in the list. Click Create this form when you want it. Close if you were only
trying a prompt. That does not add a form.
